Submission of the Papers

In electronic form: via e-mail, on flash disc or CD-ROM. Public server titled www.uschovna.cz can also be used for sending voluminous data.

Fee for Publishing

The fee for publishing in the Brown Coal Bulletin is 1 500 CZK and it is earmarked to cover the remuneration for development of the reviews. There is also a reduced fee for publishing: 500 CZK.

The Form of the Texts

Please do not format the texts. No such words may appear that consist of capital letters only, which also applies for the headings. Will you please utilise templates/patterns for the development of the papers, which templates can be downloaded by clicking here. For the sake of easier editorial processing, the editorial staff require that the papers be provided as one version without any graphic features, whilst another, complete, version of the paper, including pictures/figures, graphs etc., be sent to the reviewers.
The papers are to be submitted to the editorial staff in Czech or Slovak. At the same time, the titles, abstracts and the key words must be also in English (good-quality translation).
Will you please structure the texts using paragraphs and numbered chapters. The titles of the papers should be apt and shall not include any abbreviations, redundant words and subtitles. The titles may consist of 15 words, or 70 characters, as a maximum. In the abstracts avoid using abbreviations and references. The maximum scope of an abstract is 150 words, or 1000 characters, including spaces.
With the published papers try to state 6 key words as a maximum – in Czech (Slovak) and in English. Please do not omit to state, at the end of the papers, relevant lists of literature references developed pursuant to the relevant Czech Republic national standard, which references must be numbered. The list of the used literature sources may only include those to which reference is made in the text (please use numbers in square brackets). The same applies for assumed figures, tables etc.

Requirements Concerning the Graphics

For the purpose of superior-quality processing of the graphic features (figures/pictures, tables, photographs etc.) it is necessary to supply all the graphic documentation separately – in the original format and in the best possible quality.

Minimum Resolution:
Colour figures/pictures: 250 DPI (ideally 300 DPI).
Black-and-white figures/pictures and figures/pictures in the grades of grey (B/W): 600 DPI (ideally more – some 1200 DPI).
Colour drawings: at least 300 DPI (ideally 600 DPI).

The Formats of Figures/Pictures/Photographs: TIFF, EPS, AI, Non-Compressed JPG

As far as graphs are concerned, enclose them as separate files in the XLS format or as pictures (TIFF, JPEG - high resolution), together with the data source tables (this also applies for formulas etc.). Additional identifications in the pictures/figures and entering texts must be configured with the pictures. As far as tables are concerned, please send them only in the XLS format.
